FIRST TOURNAMENT OF SK SPARKASSE WF KORNEUBURG on 20th of June, 2026

In sweltering 34-degree heat, we were able to participate in the first tournament of SK Sparkasse WF Korneuburg, the first Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) club to integrate WF into its operations, all under teh direction of Kurt Weber. We warmly congratulate Kurt and his team on this great success and milestone in the history of Austrian WF developement. 🏆 Together with the gentlemen of WF Rotary, we played against WF Korneuburg, WF Triestingtal and the WFAA. The focus was on the joy of the game and fair play, and a fantastic sum was raised for the Korneuburg Disability Support Association – a successful day with wonderful, new Walking Football friends! Thank you, Kurt, thank you, Sarah!

CHARITY TOURNAMENT OF THE FC MARIAHILF on the 4th of June, 2026

This year we once again participated in the charity Walking Football tournament of FC Mariahilf. Just like last year, we were greeted by glorious sunshine, enjoyed fantastic and fair matches, and abouve all, had a wonderful atmosphere with a great supporting program and delicious food. Thank you, FC Mariahilf, for allowing us to be a part of it again!

ALMELO is worth a visit

We had the great honor and pleasure of participating in the Almelo City Cup. This tournament featured 32 men´s teams and 16 women´s teams. The women played together with players from England and the Netherlandsk advanced to the Upper Play-Off, and achieved a fantastic 8th place. The men played together with the Danish team from Sönderborg and showed their best side. What great international experiences we were able to gather here – thank you to Heracles Goldstars for the brilliant organization and execution!

PRATERVISIT WITH FRIENDS

On May, 2nd, 2026, we met up with our friends, the „Urwaldfriesen“ of TV Neuenburg, and took a „cultural“ trip to the Viennese Prater. We were quite „scary“ during our visit to the Prater´s oldest ghost train.

Afterwards we went to the famous Schweizerhaus for refreshments. A great day with wonderful friends!

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES ARE GAINED…

Two of our players (Pez and Sandy) were nominated to participate in an international women´s tournament in Devon, UK, in March with the „Rest of the World“ team. The national teams of England, Celtic Nations, and Wales participated, as well as the „ROTW“ team, which included players from Germany, Denmark, England, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria and also one player from the U.S.A. The teams competed in four different groups: 40+, 50+, 60+ and an inclusion team – the latter achieving first place in their pool!🏆

WE´RE LOOKING FOR YOU

To further strengthen our team and establish this wonderful sport in Austria, we´re using all our ressources to raise awareness. We want to bring former athletes, as well as people who like to get active again into our club life.

Come and check us out without abligation!

We look forward to seeing you! Together we move forward!

START OF INDOOR TRAINING 👌

In October, we restarted our training in the gym. A variety of warm-up exercises, stability and coordination drills, as well as training matches made the sessions varied and engaging. We finished with stretching together.

HYGGE DENMARK – A GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Our participation in our first international tournament provided us with memorable experiences, many new friends, great games at wonderful weather and beautiful moments with the Walking Football family. Winning the Fair Play Cup rounded off the event perfectly. Thanks to everyone involved!

DÄNEMARK WE´RE COMING 🙂

From September 11th to 15th, we´ll be in Denmark/Sönderborg, where we´ve been invited to an international WALKING FOOTBALL tournament.

12 mixed-teams from 5 nations will be playing our sport with lots of like-minded friends. We´re really looking forward to it – it´s going to be great!

What else can we, as A – TEAM, do?

STOP Violence Free Neighborhoods:

Violence isn´t just physical. Humiliation, whether meant as a joke, repeated as a stupid remark, or deliberately formulated, is a form of psychological violence. Humiliation can lead to profound psychological and even physical damage self esteem and personal integrity, weaken resilience, and destroy trust in relationships.

We will not allow this in our environment.

May 06, 2025:

Our first outdoor training in 1210 Vienna, Prießnitzgasse 16.

Great atmosphere, super pitch, which we can now play on until the end of October.

May 01, 2025:

With two teams at the walking football charity tournament for the crypt (FCM Platz, 1110 Vienna). Here, too, we fielded Austria’s only women’s team and a mixed team.

The women’s team came 2nd in their group and the mixed team came 3rd in their group – congratulations.

Great idea, great tournament – thank you!

Oldest gentleman: 77 years

April 26, 2025:

Participation in the “Day of Sports” at the Westfield Donauzentrum, 1220 Vienna, where we were able to introduce walking football to a wide audience. Paul Scharner (Austrian national player), thank you for your visit ;-).

April 12, 2025:

The match against WFAA was canceled at short notice for an incomprehensible reason. Instead, the A-Team carried out intensive training for the first time on the large outdoor pitch at the Donaucity sports center.
